Royston Choral Society (RCS) is a friendly, unauditioned choir of around 70 singers from a wide range of backgrounds and singing abilities united by enjoying singing together to produce memorable concerts.

Some recordings from recent concerts are here

Coming up we will be performing as follows:

Sunday 30 September 7pm Royston Arts Festival Finale concert
Royston Choral Society is delighted to be taking part in Royston Arts Festival’s Finale Concert again this year. Our slot will reprise one or two numbers from our popular Serenade to Music summer concert. We will then enjoy taking part in the closing singalong.

Sunday 4 November Britten War Requiem Haileybury College
The War Requiem, first performed on 30 May 1962, was commissioned to mark the consecration of the new Coventry Cathedral, replacing the original building destroyed in a World War II bombing raid. Britten, a pacifist, combined the traditional Latin Mass for the Dead with poems by the English war poet Wilfred Owen. This performance will be in partnership with Haileybury College choirs and orchestras and Hertfordshire Philharmonia.

RCS rehearses on Tuesday evenings 7.45- 9.45 in Royston Parish Church and performs around four times a year in Royston and surrounding villages. New singers are welcome to join RCS by coming along to an open rehearsal.

In 2018-19 we are excited to be including Britten's 'War Requiem' and Bach's 'St John Passion' in our programmes.
