Our spring 2010 concert was a very enjoyable occasion, if slightly different from our usual format.
The East Herts Youth Orchestra's Music Everywhere and the choir's performance of Zadok the Priest opened the concert with gusto.
The Royston Youth Choir enchanted audience and performers alike, especially with their rendition of Howard Goodall's Por eis sine domo.
In the second half, the choir thrilled the audience by singing an unaccompanied version of Chopin's So deep is the night. The orchestra's' 'straight' and 'last night at the Proms' interpretations of Dance of the Hours from 'La Gioconda' were both very entertaining, and the concert ended in style with Songs from West Side Story by Leonard Bernstein.
