Concert, 20th June 2009

St Mary's, Guilden Morden

The concert opened strongly with Scarlatti's Exultate Deo, and was followed by a rapid succession of some of our musical director's favourite pieces including madrigals, folk songs and lighter pieces.
The audience were obviously enjoying themselves, smiling broadly both at the music, and at David's anecdotes. According to a member of the audience, "it was a wonderful medley which really set the mood for summer".
We were fortunate to have members of the East Herts Youth Orchestra both accompanying us, and playing solos. They displayed some really promising talent.
The concert finished with an arrangement of Nice 'n Easy, and for the encore: Duke Ellington's I'm beginning to see the light.
